Bill Struth Manager 1920 - 1954

“I have been lucky — lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the
dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and
calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country.

To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name
means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox
tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him.”

Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it.
And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We
welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we
shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No
matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials
to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant
pioneers.”

"Always remember the club is greater than the man."

"The glory of the Rangers lies not in never failing, but in returning stronger than ever before.
We learn from the past.  We cherish our grand story.  Our founders, just young lads, set
standards by which the Rangers exist today; Hard work, determination, loyalty and, above all
else, the inherent desire to make Rangers F C the premier club of this fine country.  Our
greatest days lie ahead, and nothing can stop this Old Club from achieving it's goals when all
look forward with the same ambition.  March on Rangers!  For every day we make history."

"And a glorious history it is!"

John Allen (Rangers Historian)

"That is the story of the Rangers."

"They have had good times and bad times, critical times and times of exultation. No club with
the same modest origin can claim so distinguished a record of achievement."
"They were not born in the lap of luxury. They have been the architects of their own fortune,
and, simply because of that, they have become equipped with the moral resistive force to
grapple with adversity, which is better than being coddled in the cradle and whining when
the
wind blows cold."

"May all who look upon the old club with a friendly eye stand prepared, by precept and
example, to protect it's interests and it's good name."

This is why We Are The People.

For every high, there is a low; every disappointment a moment of sheer joy. We've been
through much worse periods than the current one and what didn't kill us made us stronger.

Easy to stand strong when the champagne is flowing.  The real measure of the
man is to be found in times of adversity.

Success, results, players, managers and owners come and go. Being a Rangers fan is for life.
We are the one constant in the club's existence.  It's lifeblood and it's living breathing
heartbeat from the cradle to the grave.

Win, lose or draw I'm a Rangers fan.

I was born one, live as one and fully intend to die as one. In between it is an
honour and a privilege to be part of the greatest and most unique football
institution in the world.

Memo to Timmy

When decisions go against you, instead of playing the victim, running to the press and
generally blaming everyone but yourself, look across the city to how Rangers operate.

We roll our sleeves up, we galvanise, stand tall and go forward being proud.
